It's funny how many methods and mantras that hold true for real estate also play well into other investments.
"Time in the market, not timing the market"
This is a really popular saying in the real estate circles and the reality is, why not? It holds true as real estate is ever forgiving if you just give it time. I mean, housing ain't going nowhere and it is a needed element. Many other investments don't have that luxury.
NOTE: I will be posting a subscriber only post that further delves into the real estate market and the need for housing.
However, for some investment it doesn't matter...
Take for instance BITCOIN! Bitcoin has literally been a time in the market not timing the market type of play since its inception.
Granted, bitcoin isn't a basic human need like shelter, but it seems to have enough value and purpose for people (especially those in countries with currency crises) that it has become a valid store of wealth or currency throughout many parts of society.
The point is, buying real estate and just holding and buying bitcoin and just holding have been the better play then trying to time the ups and downs.
