Surely if there's a tx record of my reblogging the post, the post must exist, somewhere, but....

No, Hive works well.
It looks like a bug in how leofinance deals with auto-reblog feature.
You prepared two transactions, first that sends post with a given permlink, second that reblogs that post. First failed, but second was executed anyway, even though it shouldn't.
No, post doesn't have to exist. Re-blogging is just, a custom_json operation, and as such it's just some custom operation... that doesn't really even have to be a valid json ;-)

Try refreshing your cookies, usually fixes any issues I ever have on Hive. Make sure you have your keys backed up obviously.
It happaned with me earlier.sometimes because of low resource credit in your account it could not broadcast properly.

This happened to me before, you can sometimes catch the post and copy it from the leo node, which is what I did. As @gtg said, hive works well, but I think this issue is related to leo lightning or whatever they call it, did you see a version of your post on leofinance.io then notice missing on peakd?
It didn't even make it's way to leo! How do I access the node?
