I found a tweet by RnaudBertrand with information on the evolution of GDP per capita with data from the World Bank national accounts and OECD National Accounts data files. So it seems quite accurate.
The chart is self-explainatory:
Holy shit! Europeans are lagging a LOT compared to North Americans. I already knew it, but what I wasn't aware is that almost all of the difference happened last 10-14 years.
Why the GDP per capita is growing more in the USA? Maybe because they let entrepreneurs do their things instead of mass regulating new industries like Europe does. I don't know. But what I'm seeing is that we'll not reduce the gap if things are not being done differently.
I particularly don't like any of the policies that Europeans are implementing, I think most of them are going in the opposite direction of progress. At some point in the future, maybe I would consider to move to a country outside of the EU. There are some small countries that are doing better than the south of europe, and they have lower taxes.
When it makes economic sense I would love to have a plan to leave the country and pay less taxes. I don't want to fund a government that is overspending irresponsibly for a long time frame without any reasonable plan for the future.
I opt-out and buy Bitcoin (and some Hive too).

From the charts, looks like the EU countries never recovered after the 2008-2009 financial crisis, while from the GDP per capita perspective, in the US it was like a small glitch in the chart, on the way up.

The financial crisis broke Europe in pieces. The chart shows it clearly.
