University and college enrollment is still down from pre pandemic levels and this is the 3rd year in a row that it has continued to decline according to a recent report.
Are more waking up to the possible lie that a college degree promises you a successful career, or even the prospect of finding an occupation in your desired field?
We know that many graduates have had trouble finding work in their own fields, some might even end up working minimum wage jobs after they graduate.
Along with that deterioration of the promise of a prosperous future there is also the increasing cost, where colleges are taking future prosperity from those students by putting them into significant amounts of debt.
After 20 years prices are up over 100% and for many it seems like a bad investment to make for something that isn't a certainty.
A lot of employees today are tired of sacrificing well-being, time, and life balance etc for a company that doesn't care about them and one that could easily replace them in minutes despite their dedication and investment over years. Maybe they would rather build something for themselves online?
Shows like Shark Tank have helped to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs.
60% of teens want to launch their own business.
If fewer students are choosing to go to college is that bad for the business or bad for the student? For the student it might just be the best thing. Still, the drop has only been around 1.1% in enrollment, down a little over 3% since 2020, and it doesn't seem that significant just yet.
After what we just experienced with lockdowns and new COVID-related changes coming to campuses around the world, political censorship issues also aren't helping, the cost is another deterrent as well. Are we surprised things are slow in recovering? There are still many out there who are happy though to continue feeding the dream, in many cases it is the right path depending on what career choice you might be looking for, and perhaps it won't be long before rates start to uptick again for enrollment.

What about quality of education? Has it not changed? Maybe that's a more impoortant reason for dropping number of students?
It's fair to say that I haven't noticed a decrease in the number of applicants. The competition among prospective students is still high, and it takes more than just passing exams to stand out. A well-written letter of recommendation can make a significant difference. lorservice.com can assist with that, providing expert help in crafting an impactful letter that can increase the chances of being admitted to a desired coledge.
