So......I heard this while shopping in London, UK, who knows if it's true but it's a great story....
Lego opened a Lego Store (the biggest on the planet apparently) in Leicester Square, London recently. To commemorate the event they released 275 numbered mini figures (called Lester) which you could win with a scratch card you recieved for spending a certain amount in the store.
After the first day a few had been won, and a couple went straight up on Ebay, they started to sell for between £1,500 and £3,500. ($1,800 - $4,400) And after the first three days of the shop being open quite a few had been won, maybe about 75.....
So there are potentially 200 left. Worth between £300,000 and £700,000 ($360,000 and $880,000). And on day four the Store opened and one of the staff didn't turn up. And the 200 mini figures had gone.
And I guess if you leave a country by plane, carrying 200 little plastic mini figures customs might look at you strangely but they probably won't stop you.....It's not like you'r carrying thousands of £££$$$!!!!!
Interpol have been alerted and are on the look out for Lester and his captor. No ransom note has yet been received, and it is feared that Lester faces a life of captivity in the hands of black market traders.
