"You might not be an erudite. Or maybe the most talented one. Not even the darling of the crowd. But as long you know the wonder of learning and how it works, you will see yourself rise up from the ashes."
We learn from different things in life. We acquire lessons and knowledge through education and other people's experiences. And when we mentioned the word experience, it automatically include ours. We learn from the things around us, or maybe from what's inside of us. Learning is everywhere. You don't have to look for it cause it's already there, waiting for us to recognize it and be perceptive in order to obtain it.
But as the time passes by, the world is rapidly changing as well. New inventions are being structured, new methods are being drawn, new theories are being created and other new things are sprouting everywhere. That creates more information to acquire and portrays massive changes in doing things the way we used to do it.
That explains why majority of the population settles for what they are familiar with, than venturing the path of exploration and feeding themselves with new ideas and information, that can certainly help them improved and achieve better results.
It isn't really the fear of the unknown that scare or hinder them. It's the thought of starting from the scratch and being a noob again.
Human as we are, whether we accept it or not, we don't like starting from a scratch again after acquiring skills and learnings. We are afraid to be mock and laugh at. Trying new things might be terrifying, but the idea of failing in venturing the path of starting over again is what scare us the most.
We often forgot that its how things work. We have to be a beginner first before we become an expert. We have to build from the scratch first, before we can have a home to live in.
With that being mentioned, we cannot learn as well if we do not allow ourselves to unlearn things. There are certain areas that we can easily understand only, when we unlearn things. By doing that, we are allowing ourselves to be a student again. Unlearning helps us create some space for new things.
There's nothing wrong about unlearning. What's wrong is when you reject the chance of acquiring new knowledge just because you think that you already know everything. Where in fact, what you know is just quartet of what you are about to gain if you just allow yourself.
You see, wise people learn the importance of unlearning in order to make rooms for other new learnings. As what other people always say, learn to unlearn things if you don't want to be left behind.
World is constantly changing and we have to be adaptive and versatile in order to survive.
Empty your cup :) Learning is progressive. It does not end. What we know now may not be applicable. We have to update ourselves too and to do that we have to be willing to learn.
