in #learnartwithme7 years ago (edited)

Hellow fellow steemians! This is another Watercolor 101 video for the very beginner which aims to walk you through the different types of paints you will use (pans vs tubes) and how to prepare and use your paint in a pallet.

So good! I must remember to clean my brushes lol

thanks! appreciate the support :)

I remember the color wheel and mixing lessons during art class being my favorites. The combination of them into unexpected colors is what really piqued my interest. That translated well even when I got to digital media.

Great trick with the color on the side and the clean water for the wash. I never would've thought about the gradual mix. What's its main advantage as opposed to mixing it directly though?

The metal tray palette is new for me as well. It's cool how it all mixed. At the beginning, it looked like a mess, but everything made sense eventually. Awesome video, brother!

thanks! The main advantage to gradual mixing is that you can keep testing the color you have mixed so far to see if you hit the value you want and then you can stop instead of making it too dark, then you have to add more water to lighten it again. Yeah, pallets can get pretty dirty and crazy but the nice thing is you then also have a lot of colors to choose from!
