This is the proper way to go about it - how citizens and police can help each other. After all police are public servants - Here to serve & protect the public and they're best interests. It would be just wrong for police for example to ignore the public or think they are above the law in anyway... Or that its ludicrous for public to question authority or have a say in what goes on.
By intelligently having a conversation in a civil manner - your words can carry the weight of justice (for lack of a better word)
