My thoughts on this whole take down of her account. Some new interesting evidence that it was planned out.

People are foolish to be putting so much faith in social media networks. Social media networks like youtube, patreon and even this place get started by people interested in manipulating people through the social environment.

Personally, I hope that we can get to a point where people start hosting their own videos outside the control of social media boxes with patronage coming through cybercurrency.

Isn't that what Steemit is all about? trying to move away from centralized social media and encrypting the information so it would not be traceable?

Although SteemIt uses a distributed file system, it is still a social media platform. There are people building applications using steem as the reward engine.

You mentioned the word traceable. Everything you do with Steem is shown to the public. I can see all of your activity on https://steemd.com/@elduke

The site is clearly a step in the right direction. The site includes mechanisms to flag content. This is necessary to reduce spam, but can be abused.

I suspect they either have or are working on procedures to remove copyright violations.

Steemit is clearly a step in the right direction. However, content producers are still wise to maintain their primary content on independent sites.

Thank you for the reply, but isn't steemit engine an independent site? 😁

I really like SteemIt, I like their crypto-currency and awards structure. I hope the site grows.

Yes, SteemIt is an independent site with a distributed file system; However, it is still a centralized platform.

Facebook and Twitter are also independent sites. To be truthful. Google, Apple, Verizon and Microsoft are independent companies.

IMHO, the big problem we are facing is media consolidation.

Adding one new web site does not solve this consolidation problem.

The only way to solve media consolidation is to create hundreds of thousands of independently owned web sites.

Are you talking about Mastodon social media or something like that?

It's all bullshit. Their motto: "We have the right to keep you silent." Hogwash. Say what you want, when you want, where you want. We need to stop catering to these freakin' coddled babies with thin skin. Toughen up buttercup. 😊
