Let's start of with the definition of task - a piece of work to be done or undertaken.
Latium is a platform that allows user to create a task that they can hire one or many people to complete a task. The task could mean literally anything. I could essentially hire anyone to stand in a certain spot for a certain amount of time. Once the task is complete I will pay them in LatiumX or LATX which are the tokens that can be exchanged into other coins and eventually, cash money $. I could also hire someone, possibly in Africa, to write a paper for me. I could hire someone in Malaysia to code up a website for me. I could hire MANY people to go to a certain restaurant or stand out front of a certain building for a certain amount of time and once that is done they will get paid by me. The GPS and clock found in the hardware of today's phones can verify where someone is and how long they are there. Anyone willing to complete a task is rewarded with LATX tokens.
The platform presents a map to users with available local tasks which they complete. By walking or driving around, completing tasks and collecting LATX, the Latium platform provides a level of gamification (think Pokemon Go, but instead of finding Pokemon you are collecting LATX).
How is this accomplished? Smart contracts.
Once a user signs the contract the user who created the contract will make sure the contract is completed and once that happens, they automatically get paid from one user to another. Now you can apply for any task globally, determine what you are willing to complete the task for and have transparency in to every facet prior to acceptance. As an employer you can award the task to the tasker of your choice and know that if the task is not completed to your standards that you don’t have to pay.
All users on the platform have a rating from 1 to 1000 similar to a fico credit card score. The score is based on many different data points that are systematic, not opinion based. These include, but are not limited to, amount of jobs completed, hire rate, payment time, task value, and worker/employer diversity.
Similar platforms -
- OpenBazaar - An Ebay type application that you can buy and sell items with bitcoin, but its very slow in my opinion.
- Storm Market - A Gamified Micro-Task platform that allows users to earn my performing micro-tasks. The platform also allows the user to "level up", achieving points for performing tasks.
- Bounty0x - A decentralized bounty hunting platform enabling anyone to manage bounty programs, and bounty hunters to receive payment for completing bounty tasks.
