This is a photograph, taken on sunset in the island of Naxos (Greece), while I was on vacations long time ago. Well, to be honest, it is not one photo, but a panorama made of a series of pictures.

I used to have an Olympus C7000Z in 2006 (I miss that camera). I decided to take a picture of Portara (the ancient door you see on the right) and harbor, in night mode. Unfortunately I couldn’t take what I wanted with one shot, and decided to take a lot of pictures, for connecting them in Photoshop, later on.

So after a while, I used my skills on Photoshop, to create a panorama. I did a lot of brushing and erasing and rotations to make one photo. And I left it in my mac for years.

Recently I rediscovered it and transferred it to my iPhone, for editing there. And this is the final result!

As for history, on the rock you see on the right, is the trademark of the Cyclades islands in Greece, the so called Portara. It is the remaining of an unfinished ancient altar, devoted to god Apollo. Later on, according to Greek mythology, Ariadne left the Athenian hero Theseus there, for god Dionysus.

If you are interested on Greek mythology, I can write some posts about myths and legends like Hercules (not Kevin Sorbo but the original), Odysseus, Achilles (again not the Brad Pitt version) and the Gods. Just say the word and I will start right away!!!

Wow what a great place!!

Really it is! Naxos is a great place to escape for some days (or for all your life)!
