Irish Mountain Landscape By Drone

in #landscape7 years ago

A short video that I put together for my dad a few months ago, taken in the Mourne mountains of County Down in Ireland.

you might want to skip to around 30 seconds in if you are bored by the beginning.

ahahah best regard @loooping

haha, that's cool! Thanks for watching. I will check out your page and have a look :)

What kind of camera did you use to film this? Was it a phone camera?

No it was just the standard camera that is attached to that model of drone. I think the model is DJI phantom 3 or 4

Such beautiful scenery captured on drone. Upvoted.

I know right? Ireland and Scotland have lots of similar sights :)
Thanks for the upvote!

Beautiful country! Would you mind sharing a bit more about the drone your are using?

I know, such a privilege to grow up here! I was borrowing the drone from my dad, I think it is dji phantom 3/4

Just great!

Thanks a lot, it feels good to have my work appreciated by so many people! :)

Wow it is really beautiful. Kinda makes me want to visit Ireland even more! Nice post!

Thanks! You will really love Ireland, especially if you like game of thrones! :)

This is really cool, great video :)

Thanks, Glad you like it samuel! :)

Magical! your shots went so well with the music. I gather you took quite some time with the editing?

Thank you! Yes the editing took a while just because I am not very good with final cut pro! haha

Wow really awesome! love it! Need to buy one to! upvoted & followed :)

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it! Just checked out your page, followed you too :)

Thanks! ;) See you around then :)

Awesome landscapes!, those drones seems like a lot of fun!... You used the in built camera of the drone?

Oh they really are, have you seen freestyle racing drone videos? They are so cool!
Yes I used the built-in drone camera, I also had done some colour correction in final cut pro editing software. :)

yes!, everything filmed with drones is fun!... How good is that camera?, can you adjust a custom camera to it?

It's good quality don't get me wrong, I would just like better quality! haha

You could easily attach a camera to the base of the drone but you couldn't move it remotely with the handset.

Although I do know you can buy upgraded cameras that are are made by DJI and fit perfectly with the delicate gimbal system they have. This would work perfectly, so you could adjust the angle of your shot etc.

Hope that helps :)

I am watch full video, overall nice video. Amazing!!!
I am upvote and followed you...

Ireland, I always thought that there would be more drunk people

They only come out at night... haha

-:) medase (Twi for thank you)

cead mile failte romhat ("One hundred thousand welcomes" in Irish) :)

What kind of Drone are you using? The camera work is so steady and smooth

I believe it's the DJI Phantom 3 or 4, not my drone so I'm not 100% sure.

Awesome

Thanks for watching :)

Outstanding video!

Wow, thanks for watching! :)

So barren. It's really bizarre to see a place that clearly has water but also is completely barren of anything but small stubbly grass. Normally you think of that in places like Steppes which are cold weather but also extremely arid with little water. Must have been a hard life for the first people that settled there.

There is a large body of freshwater nearby currently held in place by a dam. I don't know if you can pick them out in this video but along this road there are ruins of stone cottages dating back at least 150 years. In the past this area would have been completely covered by woodland except in the peat-bogs which had resources that could be burned for warmth. Definitely a harsh climate to live in!

So it was forested once upon a time but got clear cut, presumable for agriculture or livestock?

I assume so, I am not sure to be honest. I do know that we exported a lot of wood over the past few centuries, but if you go back say 5000 years it would be predominantly forested.

Awesome footage!

Thanks a lot @sunsurfsoul ! :)

Really like this. Just got a Mavic a few weeks ago

I just checked out your content, followed!

Definitely on my bucket list. It has to be...because I want to do a world tour of all the Castles ever built!

Cool bucket list! When you come to Northern Ireland perhaps take the game of thrones film sites tour, even if you dont watch the show you will see some medieval sites!

Wow, amazing! Great job with the videography. We drove from Dublin to Cork earlier this year and came across landscape like this. We took a wrong turn and ended up at the top of a rolling hill like the ones you captured. It was stunning. Thanks for sharing, the video was beautiful!

Check out this post to see my friends video montage of Australias east coast. I hope you find it inspiring :)

Thanks, that's cool that your friend made his play his work :) I am going to focus on photography though. I'll check it out because I'm moving to Oz very shortly!

Wow mate really? Where in Australia are you visiting and do you have any idea what time of year you'll be coming?

I'm sure you'll get some chances to capture more great photography.

Um yes, Thursday! haha
I have family in Mornington in Melbourne so I am staying with them for a little while, I have no plans after that except a vague idea of working on fruit farms at some point!
Any tips on places to see?

Wow so close!! Melbourne is pretty cold this time of year. If you can make it up the east coast there is a lot to see and do.

There are some awesome cafe etc in Melbourne though! Followed to keep up to date with your adventures :)

Thanks for following man! Maybe I will have to ask you for directions at some point haha

If you make your way up the coast don't hesitate to get in touch. Hope you have safe travels and make some great memories

Very nice!
I have that same drone!

I just posted some pics I took a while back from a road trip in some Norwegian mountains. Check it out if you want. Think you might enjoy :)
