Real Sociedad - Levante (3-0)
Is La Real finally starting to «come back»? Another home win well deserved against Levante in the early kick off, Sunday. Probably to early for Xabi Prieto that got injured when he scored their first goal with a penalty after just ten minutes, and got an injury. From here there was no doubt about the three points, and a wonder goal from Sergio Canales and a goal from Juanmi helped Real Sociedad securing another three points very important.
The big question for Levante now is how long Juan Ramón López Muñiz can be their manager. Levante haven’t got a win since november and are just falling and falling down the table. Something has to change, and that has to happen quickly!
Real Sociedad will travel to Valencia and Mestalla next weekend in an entertaining game to watch probably, while Levante will have a huge game at home against Real Betis.
Atlético - Athletic Club (2-0)
As «everyone» predicted another home win for Atlético against a side without Aritz Aduriz and Raúl Garcia. Atlético wasn’t really in danger during the whole game, and when Kevin Gameiro sent Atlético into the lead, it looked promising for Los Rojiblancos. Some minutes later Diego Costa doubled their lead, and the points were clearly going to Madrid this afternoon. The only thing to «worry» about is the injury of Lucas Hernández for Atlético Madrid, but hopefully there is nothing serious.
Atlético will now play the return leg of the Europa League against Copenhagen at Thursday, before they will have a partidazo against Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán at Sunday. Athletic will play against the hopeless Málaga at home hoping for the three points.
Espanyol - Villarreal (1-1)
A dreadful match to be honest I would say. The game started though really promising for Villarreal, and that resulted in taking the lead in the 25th minute after a thunderbolt from Rodrigo Hernández. Espanyol didn’t create to much after this before they started to get a pressure around fifteen minutes before the end. Finally it ended with a equalizer late in the game by a nice free kick goal from Esteban Granero. Espanyol luckily got a point, and Villarreal could have finished the game earlier with a huge chance missed by Carlos Bacca.
Espanyol will have an important game against Depor away next weekend, but Villarreal will have an almost impossible task against Lyon at Thursday trying to qualify after the 3-1 defeat away. Sunday they will be playing the impressive Getafe at home.
Real Betis - Real Madrid (3-5)
La Liga Loca! An absolute crazy game at the Benito Villamarín started with a goal from Marco Asensio. In the first half Real Betis really outplayed Real Madrid, and had a 2-1 lead full deservedly going into half time. But.. Betis is Betis, and again they collapsed with three goals from Real Madrid in the space of fifteen minutes. Sergio León gave the Betis-fans some hope again scoring in the 85 minute, but Karim Benzema finished the lovely game just seconds before the end. An absolute cracker of a football game, and you have to love Real Betis and Quique Setién. You just have to!
Betis is now traveling to Valencia next weekend playing against Levante, and Real Madrid will have their game missing finally played against Leganés at Wednesday.
Getafe - Celta Vigo (3-0)
Again Getafe impressed, and Celta Vigo could probably have played the whole day without scoring. Celta Vigo played and played, but created really anything. Angél was the big man this Monday evening scoring two goals and one assist. Getafe is now number 9 in the league, and that’s really impressive by the promoted side under José Bordalás.
Getafe will play against a probably tired Villarreal-team at Sunday, while Celta will have an entertaining game against Eibar coming at Baláidos.
