Alavés - Leganés (2-2)
Ok, this was not my prediction. In this game I didn’t see four goals coming, but it clearly did. Munir continued his great form after Abelardo took over, and Munir and Guidetti have formed a very good partnership. When Pedraza doubled Alavés’ lead it looked about finished, but it wasn’t! Leganés probably got a soft penalty after 75minutes which gave them hope, and when Rodrigo Ely also was awarded his second yellow card at the end of the game, things looked dangerous for the home side who clearly was frustrated of the referee. In the 90th minute it of course happened. Leganés equalized after an awful clearance from Alexis Ruano who gave Zaldua the goal, and secured a points against a very angry home side which felt the referee Trujillo Suárez gave Leganés the point. A very disappointing opening of the day for the home side, but Leganés will be happy they saved a point from here.
Real Madrid - Deportivo (7-1)
Real Madrid is back, or not? Regardless of that a very important win and a big boost for the home side who needed this after many bad performances and weeks. The game started bad for Real Madrid when Depor took the lead early on, but well deserved Los Blancos took the lead into half time after a goal from Nacho and the in form Gareth Bale. In the second half it just continued scoring five goals, and Cristiano finally got two goals! The game will probably for many be remembered for Cristiano walking off the pitch with a phone in his hand checking his bloody face after a bad incident from Fabian Schär when Cristiano scored his second goal. I don’t know how much we can say Real Madrid is back, but they definitely needed a game like this. There is no doubt Deportivo will struggle to survive this season, and you couldn’t expect them to get something from this game either. Now Depor will prepare for a huge match against Levante next weekend, while Real Madrid will try to qualify in the Copa del Rey against Leganés after winning the first leg 1-0 away.
Real Sociedad - Celta (1-2)
The game was like I imagined. End to end stuff, and after 20minutes both Willian Jose and Iago Aspas had scored. When La Real got their penalty ten minutes later, it looked to be another crazy game at the Anoeta like 3-3/4-2, but Willian Jose couldn’t score and missed the penalty. Pione Sisto also missed a huge chance in the another end, and the third goal didn’t came before Maxi Gómez scored late in the game after a corner where the goalkeeper Rulli clearly didn’t make things more difficult for the Celta-striker. A fun game to watch like I predicted, but a bit disappointed Willian Jose couldn’t score the penalty so we would have got more goals. The question now is how long Eusebio will survive for the home side? Things has to change, and it doesn’t look very good for the home side. Celta got their second away win in a row, and has now started to climb at the table in a very even part of the table.
Real Betis - Barcelona (0-5)
Messi, Messi, Messi! I cannot describe him anymore, he is just too good. Going into half-time Betis definitely performed a good first half in an amazing atmosphere, but in the second half it collapsed after the former rival (former Sevilla-player), Ivan Rakitić sent Barcelona into the lead. In these ten minutes now, Barcelona killed the game and scored three goals after Messi and Suárez also had the ball in the net. Again Messi and Suárez had another goal, and the game finished with a big win for the away-side that has clearly now ended the league.. Congratulations to Barcelona! Barcelona could also celebrate having Samuel Umtiti back in the team this game, after. Thomas Vermaelen sadly was injured again.. Things are almost perfect now for the Catalans just waiting for the comeback of Dembélé and Coutinho’s debut.
Eibar - Málaga (1-1)
The final game of the round was going to be at the Ipurua between our beloved Eibar, and the «dead» Málaga. This was the first game for the new Málaga-manager, José González, and things looked a bit more solid, but of course they couldn’t take all the three points. However they took the lead early after a goal from En-Nesyri who should have doubled their lead some minutes later coming 1 vs 1 against Eibar-keeper Dimitrovic. Eibar pressed and pressed, and finally they got their breakthrough after a goal from Kike in the 76th minute of the game. Málaga lived dangerous the last fifteen minutes, and was a bit lucky to get a point after Eibar was really close to get the winning goal too. Things wasn’t made even better when Kuzmanović got two yellow cards in the space of 48 seconds after coming on late in the game. Málaga got a point, but to be honest I can’t see them survive this season unfortunately. The losses of Sandro, Camacho and Pablo Fornals was to big in the summer, and they need a miracle to survive.
Unfortunately and very unlucky none of the bets this weekend ended with a win. The first corner bet in Getafe - Athletic wasn’t so close, but Villarreal - 1 and Real Sociedad clearly should have won. Villarreal should have scored more goals, and ten seconds before the end Levante got a very soft penalty meaning we only got a push in that game.
In the Sociedad-game it also should have been a win I think. If Willian Jose had converted his penalty early on, or Pione Sisto scored his chance, the bet easily would have won.
I don’t think this weekend that the bets was bad, but we was very unlucky. Hopefully next weekend we can get some cash in!
