If you grew up in a remote industrial Czech town listening to your father's Sting records and started your first band when you heard The Scientist, your music could sound like this. But what if you later discovered Bon Iver and your mind was blown by Frank Ocean and James Blake? That's what happened to Albert...
The alt-pop band Lake Malawi formed in 2013, opened for Thirty Seconds to Mars in 2014 and played at The Great Escape 2015 releasing the anticipated EP "We Are Making Love Again" featuring the single Chinese Trees. In 2016, the band supported Mika in Prague and played at major festivals such as Colours of Ostrava and Rock for People.
At the end of 2017, Lake Malawi released their first full-length debut album "Surrounded By Light", played shows in England where they made friends with Banfi and supported The Kooks in Prague. Consisting of Albert Černý (lead vocal, guitar), Jeroným Šubrt (bass and keys) and Antonín Hrabal (drums), they are now getting ready for extensive touring with the new record.
