Pain!
Can it be a show of strength?
How long should one bear with it, especially if there is nothing you can do about it?
If it's an injury, it will heal with time
If it's a heartbreak, it surely will mend with time.
Time they say heals... Maybe it truly doesn't, maybe we only get used to it and accept it as part of life!
But how do you handle a reoccurring pain!
Pain that takes sleep away from you!
Keeps you starring at your roof,
Rolling all over the bed, begging Mr analgesic to please start working on time!
Wait!
Is it that the universe decides to be unfair to some and unapologetically romancing others?
I speak after the manner of a woman.
When I was in my 100-Level, it was a real struggle!
Dared not go for lectures every first day of my period.
Test and exams time was always a nightmare for me.
My roommate once had to spend two weeks taking blood transfusions all because of menstrual pain!
Oh my goodness! I have seen stuff, yeah, and I've heard stories!
Scary ones!
Yet! ...some ladies do not even know what it feels like to experience this kind of pain. Just grateful I have never met any of them that judge those feeling this pain!
I have read so much about the cause of menstrual pain that it makes no sense to me!
Have sex some says, it will reduce it with time. Well, grateful for the exposure. I knew very early that this was just one of the lies to lure young girls into immorality!
But, at what age will one stop experiencing this wicked pain?
Yeah, grateful for analgesics, grateful that we have access to pads whose price keeps increasing like my country's electricity tariff;
But, I am so much concerned about girls in war-torn countries. What about the less privileged girls who don't have access to pads? Girls suffering from infections because of poor hygiene? I belong to the school of thought that believes that the price of sanitary towel should be heavily subsidized!
To guys in relationships, you want to spoil your babe during this period? Whether she feels the pain or not, make it a duty always to send a sanitary towel every month. If you can't give her physically, send money, and when you do, state it categorically that this is for your sanitary towel(oh my god, it's a beautiful feeling!).
We need all the support we can get in the world!
Grateful to our mothers for their care. They are the real MVPs
Thank you, daddies, for being so tender with us.
Oh my goodness, male siblings are just awesome in those moments.
Thank you to the male and female friends who helped and are still helping out to make things easier for us during the periods!
WE REALLY NEED EACH OTHER TO SURVIVE!
Who are you grateful to today?
What method of easing menstrual pain do you know?
What other myths have you heard about painful periods?
Want to share your own experience also with us?
I will be reading🥰!
