Introduction

#kr is currently the most popular area based tag in Steemit and the 4th most popular in general after #life #photography and #steemit.
What makes them so special compared to the other area-based tags?

Background - Tag History

It is all back then in 7/27/2016, when @clayop, wrote the first article using #kr tag here . His suggested people to use "kr" tag for every Korean related post.
This article gained 121 upvotes worth $994.06 and commented 21 times (which is WOW!).

Lesson learned number 1 :

This is a well-planned tag

What about other similar tags? Let's have a look:

a. Spanish (2nd most popular area-based tag/ 13th globally)
#spanish was firstly used by @hcf27 in 5/3/2016 (which earlier than #kr). In his article @hcf27 didn't mention at all about the use of "spanish" tag. He mostly discussed his experience of the advantage he got from Steemit compared to other traditional social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, etc.

b. Indonesia (3rd most popular area-based tag/ 19th globally)
The first use of #indonesia tag is in the article in 07/06/2016 written by @rahmat link here. Just like "spanish" tag, not a single line discussed about the use of the tag. @rahmat mostly talked about the national record (MURI) of the first wedding where marriage vows registered in blockchain (bitcoin).

c. Aceh (4th most popular area-based tag/ 23th globally)
@lukmanreyes is the first person used #aceh tag in his article here in 8/1/2016. He poorly wrote an article that only consists of one word with a (currently) Youtube deadlink.
What makes this tag unique that #aceh represents a sub-area (province), unlike the others as a country basis.
Note: This tag deserves to be discussed exclusively (that I have a plan to do it later in a separate post)

d. Cn (5th most popular area-based tag/ 37th globally)
#cn is a Chinese language base tag. The first post was written in 7/9/2016 by @roseebit. In his/her article here explain about H.E.A.T blockchain (I'm using Google translator). Like the other tags, it does not mention the use of "cn" tag.

e. Deutsch (6th most popular area-based tag/ 43th globally)
@redpalestino started the #deutsch tag in 7/25/2016 by writing an article . The same as others, no the use of the tag discussed.

f. Kr-newbie (7th most popular area-based tag/ 44th globally)
A post made by @oldstone here in 5/15/2017 just strengthening the argument that Korean is the most solid community in the world of Steemit. They even made a special tag to help newbies and provide support for them. And surprisingly the tag has appeared on the main page of Steemit.com tag list right after the #deutsch# tag.
This tag is the youngest one amongst the others. Very impressive.

g. Philippines (8th most popular area-based tag/ 47th globally)
This is the latest area-based tag appeared on the Steemit main page, it's 1st post started by @msrb here in 8/10/2016 and as predicted, like the others, it is just a regular post.

Activity

It is interesting to also know activity within the tags.(data source: https://steemit.com/tags data)

image.png

From the above table shows that #kr leads the race by having 7.06 comment per 1 post made. This is really far from deutsch in the 2nd which only has 2.19 in ratio.
It indicates that they have the most solid community engagement. They use Steemit as a media to share ideas and discussions. It's a **lively **community, so active.

Lesson learned number 2 :

Community Engagement

Bonus:

This data are taken from http://steemit.com/tags and from the list there is beauty pattern appears.

As can be seen from the above table, they also organizing tags by using a certain format. This what makes #kr unique and deserve to be a winner.
Lesson learned number 3 :
Well Organized

Conclusion

Why #kr deserves to be a champion in the area-based tag competition?

1. This is a well-planned tag.

2. The most active Community Engagement.

3. The most Well Organized.

Note: for some none english original post, my best approach to understand the contains is by using Google Translator.
