Photocard Collection

in #kpopcollection3 years ago (edited)

In this time of pandemic, people have looked for ways to keep themselves busy. Being stuck at home may be a good thing for some, but not for those who look forward to going out everyday to start their day. There are many hobbies you choose from. An example of a hobby is collecting. The hobby of collecting means collecting a variety of things. An example is collecting different coins from all around the world. Seems fun, doesn’t it? In my case, I decided to collect Kpop photocards.

If you’re wondering what a photocard is, it is a picture of a Kpop Idol that comes in every physical album you buy. Collecting Kpop photocards is a very common thing in the Kpop community. If this is weird to you, isn’t it similar to collecting Pokemon cards? A person who collects these photocards are called as a photocard collector. The process of buying and selling these photocards can happen on any social media app which in my case is Twitter. It’s really a simple process. You buy the albums then either sell or trade it with other people. In most scenarios, people buy only the photocard if they don’t want to collect the album.

This is what I have been doing for the past 2 years. It made me happy and busy at home. There are many times I have spent thinking if this is what I really want to do… if the money is really worth spending on these kinds of things and I always say, “If it makes you happy, then why not?”. Of course I have to prioritize things that are much more important than these mere photocards but it doesn’t hurt to spend a little money on something that makes you happy, right? To be honest, I wouldn’t have been doing this if the pandemic had not started. I would’ve been buying food and spending it on clothes or room decor which basically is the same thing as buying photocards. I guess it’s just a change of priorities. Once the pandemic is done, I will be selling my photocards because I know i won’t have the time to focus on collecting anymore but with the current situation, I need to focus on doing things that keeps me happy and looking forward to the day.
