AN American rapper, Kanye West (Ye) sealed a permanent deal to buy a social media platform, Parler.

Parlement Technologies, the parent company of Parler, released a statement on Monday affirming its purchase by Ye.

The company declared that it signed an agreement "in principle to sell Parler, the world's pioneering uncancelable free speech platform, to Ye (formerly known as Kanye West)"

This purchase is coming a week after Ye was suspended from mega socials Instagram and Twitter for anti-semitism - discrimination against Jews.

So far, Parler has been downloaded 90, 000 times according to sensortower.

According to the American rapper, the platform promotes freedom of expression.

"In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves," Ye said.

Parler's bears similarity to Truth Social, owned by former US president Donald Trump, which “was founded with a mission to give a voice to all,”.

The Chief Executive Officer, George Farmer hails Ye as an advocate for free speech.

"This deal will change the world, and change the way the world thinks about free speech. Ye is making a groundbreaking move into the free speech media space and will never have to fear being removed from social media again." he said.

Farmer posits that Ye is a "step ahead of the legacy media narrative" and the company will be privileged to support.
