Free stuff usually lead toward infinite demand which can't mathematically be fulfilled. There should be a threshold, reputation or number of SP. Then you can decide on a whip if you wish to go below that threshold for some person.
Imagine someone could create account with Steem Connect and that could cause problem even if it would be people saying you haven't fulfilled your promises.

Then for every additional person that showed up each would just get less share of food. Such that the Mexican dinner may be something like the reward pool. It may end up getting divided up between steemit user in some way or another.
