Kansas City, Missouri is now on the Steem map.
Thanks to all who helped and attended Kansas City's first ever Steem party. It wasn't Missouri's first Steem event, but it was Kansas City's first!
A big thanks to @jessamynorchard who performed for us and also everyone who helped me set up and take down the event: @virtualgrowth, @jacobts, @sykochica and @fungusmonk.
Next party, though, I'm going to hire a caterer because I cooked for 60 people, about 20 showed up and to be honest, I was almost too tired to even enjoy the party.

I met Pierre through a friend, and he's kind of a local artist celebrity. Here is he posing with the mayor of Kansas City, Sly James:
I have no idea why he's holding a giant coin, but it fits, certainly.
Oh and if you see the image (shown below) on some people's posts, you'll know that they have redeemed their Stellabelle clay coin, and have received one full upvote from me on a post of their choice. People who attended the party know what I'm talking about.
If your city hasn't had a Steem event, now is the time to plan one. Many people travel the globe in search of Steem events.....I might become one of those very soon, because it was so good to finally meet the humans behind the avatars.
And one of the best Steem slogans I've seen in recent times was created on Twitter by none other than Ned Scott (CEO of Steemit.com) himself. It goes as follows:
"Steem work makes the dream work."
I think I finally found the slogan that belongs on t-shirts. I had been trying to find a great quote, and this is it for me. Thanks @ned

Thanks so much, @stellabelle! We had such a great time. @clickinchicken and I look forward to more meetups in the future. The food was great, the music was great and getting to know some steem minded people was awesome!

That's so kind of you. It's a shame that people didn't let you know that they weren't going to show up.
Hopefully, in the future there will be more event organising platforms similar to BlockParty that help to remove the risk involved for organisers.
