Rate of Mind Corruption in Children though Social Media in PNG is scary

in #kaime7 years ago

I am an advocate against abuse of social media, eg facebook. advancement in technology is quiet new in this country Papua New Guinea. the excitement of trying something new lures innocent and unprepared minds to be hooked. It is becoming a social and integral human development problem in my country in a lot of ways. Particularly for education of the children. The quality of essay writings, and human relationship and touch as dwindled. Primary School, High Schools and University Students are all affected with this onslaught of social media feeds. Productivity in study hours is taken up by feeding quality time to the cyber world of social media. In the days when we used to sit around the fire listening to folks and legends from our parents is replaced by, these kids now locked away in their rooms, isolated and talking to either a smartphone device or computer. This is a sad situation of a new generation that is already showing proof of being absent from the past and spoiled for the future without without due considering to the negative impacts. This will eventually become a developmental problem for my country in a lot key areas. Advocating for responsible use of this technological developments is becoming a need to simply ignore.
I am a patron in the church group of about 1000 + youth and I have taken this fight to educate on responsible use of social media. I also speak to a lot of students around the country. The message is simply, Internet and social media is here to stay, however use it wisely and responsibly for positive gain.
I would like to know from this steem forum, if someone has a similar story to tell about his/her country or a program that is used and available i can use for the children of my country.

I am doing this to save my country from the further corruption of the mind through social media. I am leaving my contacts below if anyone wants to help and assist.
