A Myanmar military court has sentenced US journalist Danny Fenster, 36, to 11 years in prison. He was convicted of violating immigration laws, illegally interfering and inciting dissent. Danny Feinster was the managing editor of Frontier Myanmar, a Myanmar-based media outlet. He was detained in Yangon in May while leaving the country. Danny's lawyer, Than Jao Aung, confirmed the information.
Fenster was sentenced to life in prison for inciting dissent against the military, violating immigration laws and engaging in illegal associations. Earlier this week, Fenster was charged with two counts of sedition and one count of terrorism. Whose maximum punishment is life imprisonment. His trial will begin on November 18.
