If you failed to execute a realistic Situational Analysis by deceived yourself, then your Long Term Goals and Objectives will be ill defined.
But in turn, even if your Situational Analysis is correct but your Long Term Goals and Objectives are ill defined, then you will get no where.
Hence, right and correct development of Long Term Goals and Objectives is of paramount importance since they are the Drivers of your working life and of your initial BenchMark for your own self assessment.
