Would you do this job?

The dream

I recently saw a very interesting job offer promising the very attractive feat of allowing you to work from home, and with a setup where you could choose how much to work, and exactly when you work.

This sounded too good to be true, there were no specifications whether or not a certain degree of education was required, or even what exactly the job was except that you would 'handle data' and 'get paid per response'.

It also stated you would be required to submit tax reports from the income yourself, they would not handle that.

After my initial doubts, and a few google searches i decided to apply for the job, stating in the limited text boxes i had to fill out, that i couldn't promise anything since i felt i had very little information to base my decision on.

It crossed my mind several times that it might be an attempt to scam people of sensitive information, yet i was never fully convinced that it was malicious.

The details

Within 48 hours, i received an e-mail from an employee who would act as my coach and would take me through a 3 hours training course before i would be granted access to the site where i supposedly could login and do work.

I was beginning to get pretty psyched, i made several worst-case-scenario calculations on what i might earn and it seemed decent, considering i can work anytime i want, for how ever long i wish.

Then my newly appointed coach sent me the training materials, and i couldn't help but chuckle...

Catfishing desperados

It became crystal clear that i was to keep lonely middle-aged men hooked on some online pay-2-chat service that featured promises of sexual encounters.

While under the veil of a fake female user, i should intrigue, seduce and mislead male users into spending as much time and money on the website as possible. All this, while avoiding giving away too much information, and dodging all attempts to 'meet-up' either IRL or on other platforms where interaction doesn't cost anything.

I was also told that there is a log associated with the fake-accounts which is supposed to be used as a way of remembering any details one might have told the 'customer' like events in life etc.

I dont think it will be very hard keeping desperate males glued to their screen, and when paid per message sent my background as gamer/computer enthusiast really comes in handy.

Would you be interested in this job, or a similar one? A friend of mine jokingly compared it to prostituting oneself yet we both felt like it was more of an abuse of the poor hopeful males on their website.

I am gonna complete the training course, and see what kind of money it brings in and the severity of the perversions that i experience.
