Brazil's Chief Justice and the first black member of the country's Supreme Court, Hokim Barbosa (63) may be the presidential candidate for the next election. On Friday night, he officially joined the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB). It is speculated that he is being nominated in the presidential election held in October. It has been indicated by PSB.
According to Reuters reports, despite Barbosa's political identity, he has a known antithesis. He imprisoned three former collaborators of Brazil's former leftist president Lula de Silva in 2012. There were allegations that they were involved in corruption in buying votes.
Barbosa retired from the Supreme Court in 2014. Since then, he is heard to be the next presidential candidate from PSB. Barbossa opened his mouth. He said, "PSB has not yet finalized me as presidential candidate. There is still enough time to make this decision. '
However, the PSB has said that they found the initial survey, Barbosa's position is good. Those who have turned away from the Lula Workers Party for corruption, they can choose Barbos as their president. The party also said that Lula de Silva was imprisoned for corruption. The PSB also said that their conference will be held in June. The majority of the members formally nominate him as the president.
Last week PSB's leader Carlos Ciciera told Reuters, Brazil's politics is plagued by corruption charges. So voters will choose Barbara as honest and trustworthy person as president.
The survey agency Eurasia Political Risk Consultation said in a note written to their clients, Barbosa could have a silent revolution in the next election. The organization thinks that Barbosha's anti-corruption image could drag the voters out of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB) candidate Geraldo Alkmann and environmentalist Marina Silver.
