"Mainstream" (released in 1975) was the name of the only studio album produced by the English band, Quiet Sun. The group was founded in the 70s by guitarist Phil Manzanera (ex-Roxy Music) and bassist Bill McCormick (ex-Matching Mole). The Quiet Sun style included ingredients taken from jazz to progressive rock, in a style very similar to that of Soft Machine. However, guitarist Phil Manzanera's style set Quiet Sun's music apart from that of Soft Machine, who did not use the guitar until the release of the album Bundles in 1975 ... =)
