End of summer harvest festival

The main event, where all the portable shrines rock and sway altogether. During this every one is singing and pushing these heavy shrines around. The people were hyped and ready to go.

All of the activity has kicked up a lot of dust, which can be seen in the air of my shots. I was fortunate with my lighting as the event began around golden hour. However, shadows from the trees made the grounds darker.

Each of the shrines were carried by different teams, i heard they were made up of local businesses and families. They also wear matching designs and colours. Festival clothing is pretty unique and those that help run them or take part often wear such jackets as seen below.

This event lasted about an hour and there was a lot synchronized chanting and movement.

Some locals like to wear masks during these festivals, such as the above images. Masks are often depicted with folklore monster and deities. Children, however, will wear their favorite characters and super heroes.

After everyone is done the shrines are set down and everyone goes off to enjoy the rest of the festival.

Thanks for viewing, my posts are about the journey, the process and showing my experiences. Where there are a lack of words I like my work to speak for its self. Don't hesitate to ask questions.
