Some snaps from my time in Japan.
It was some years ago. I lived in Nagasaki, but this is a small town on the Shimabara Peninsula.
At this time, around 15 years ago, the rice fields were brilliant green.
We had a chance to harvest some rice.
More recently, the rice fields here have been falling into disrepair, overgrown. The old people are all that's left. There are more and more empty houses too.
I'll be talking more a bout Japan in my blog. I love the place.
Looks like a nice little farming town. Looking forward to more of your Japan posts.
Thanks, yes rice, and nearby potatoes, but the locals grow all sorts of great vegies in the spaces around their houses, I remember pulling up big fresh daikon with the neighbours. Cheers.
