A simple phrase that we use everyday.
GenKi, is thought of as your health or energy levels.
So the closest translation in English is ‘How are you?’

People use 元気 (genki) to describe their health and how energetic they are feeling.

If someone asks you ‘Ogenkidesuka’ you can reply with ‘ge-n-ki-de-su’ (I’m fine), or Ge-n-ki ja-n-ai (not so fine).
