Japan Travel Guide

A popular destination spot when traveling to Japan, is none other than the old town of Kyoto, located in the Higashiyama District. Kyoto is a great place to experience a traditional feel, along with a rich cultural and historical background which does not fail to disappoint the traveling voyager.

The narrow lanes that formulate the blueprint of the town are lined with wooden buildings and traditional merchant shops which encompass the entirety of this once in a lifetime experience. The vibrant colors and strong aroma that fills the air cannot be described in words, thus in order to gain the full fledged experience you must go and see for yourself.

The streets are lined with small shops, cafes and restaurants that have been appealing to its tourists for centuries on end. You will find many places to serve your very needs, and many of the shops specialize in Kiyomizu-yaki pottery, delica stations (sweets), miscellaneous crafts and other extravagant souvenirs. The busy streets will likely be filled with women and men in traditional dress, which adds a flavorful zest to the overall experience.

Kyoto is filled with hundreds of temples and shrines which are strategically placed throughout the old town like a riddle waiting to be solved. Castles can be seen from the streets in which you walk and famous gardens become apparent before your very eyes within a single blink. The beauty of this town cannot be granted justice through words or even pictures.
