As a race, we talk far too much. Listening is such an undervalued skill so few of us have mastered. To truly listen, not just to wait impatiently for you turn to speak, but to be present, and respond to what is being said, rather than say all of the things that you think are far more interesting.
It is a rare individual who has mastered this.
By closing our hearts, we do so in avoidance, of traumas deeply rooted in our psyche. Mental and emotional scars that we allow to plague us throughout our lives.
We tell ourselves these small lies, because they are convenient truths, rather than face up to fact we need to be honest with we where are at. An avoidance tactic, preventing us from receiving the self love we deserve.
It's all about gaining perspective, stepping back, and looking at the bigger picture. We need to be objective in order to move forwards. Not always easy in today's world of ego centric wants and desires.
Our true vision becomes distorted.
I have nothing to add, you said everything. Excellent comment, I was very pleased to read it.
