Back to the Shooting Range: (Eng-Ita)

I had a less than spectacular time, lately, and after around three months without shooting, I'm finally back to my dear shooting range.

Ho passato un periodo poco felice, ultimamente, e dopo circa tre mesi di fermo, sono finalmente tornata al mio caro poligono.

I went there meaning to watch the other shooters and breathe a little of the air of the shooting range, my second home.

Mi sono recata lì con l'intenzione di guardare gli altri tiratori e di respirare un pò l'aria del poligono, la mia seconda casa.

I was welcomed with enthusiasm by everybody, and my instructor spurred me to carry on shooting.
So, with little faith, I went to the firing line, I grabbed my Fas (the brand of the gun I usually shoot with,) and I positioned myself.
After ten minutes of shooting without bullets and warming up, I put the first bullet in th gun. After the first shot went well, I grew more confident. I shot around twenty bullets. My mission was to score two tens on three targets, and I succeeded.

Qui sono stata accolta da tutti con gran entusiasmo, ed il mio professore mi ha spronata ad andare avanti.
Così, poco fiduciosa, mi sono recata sulla linea di tiro, ho preso la mia Fas (marca della pistola con cui sparo solitamente), e mi sono messa in punteria. Dopo dieci minuti di colpi a secco e riscaldamento, ho messo il primo proiettile. Essendo il primo colpo andato a buon fine, mi sono rassicurata. Così ho sparato una ventina di colpi. La mia missione era quella di fare due dieci su tre bersagli e ci sono riuscita.

I didn't think I was ready ready to go back yet, I thought I wouldn't have been able to manage even a single decent shot; instead I only missed the center of the target once, and scored a six. To say I'm happy would be an understatement. I'm jubilant I've regained my stength, I finally feel like myself again. I don't think there is a better cure than the adrenaline produced by doing something you love.

Non credevo di essere ancora pronta a tornare, pensavo che non sarei riuscita a sparare neanche un colpo decente; invece ho mandato solo un colpo fuori dalla rosata, un sei. Dire che io sia contenta è poco. Sono veramente entusiasta di aver recuperato le mie forze, finalmente sento di essere tornata in me. Non credo ci sia cura migliore dell'adrenalina generata da una passione.
