Hello to all steemians, nature lovers and beautiful photos! Today I am here to offer you my interesting excursion, looking for the most characteristic and peaceful places of the island where I live, Florianópolis, Brazil.

Here the territory is very varied, you go from the city center, with its historical buildings and modern buildings, to the beautiful beaches, with sandy dunes, rocks, brackish lagoons, and quiet places on the outskirts, like what I will show you today.

The place of today is called Sambaqui, and its name means ''shell'', from the ancient language of Tupi-guaranis, indigenous people of the territory of southern Brazil, who built artificial hills, made with shells, oysters, and other scraps of seafood. Here in the state of S. Caterina, you can meet the highest sambaqui in Brazil and probably, here were these buildings, which then gave the place its name.

Ciao a tutti steemians, amanti della natura e delle belle foto! Oggi sono qui per proporvi una mia interessante escursione, alla ricerca dei luoghi piú caratteristici e tranquilli dell'isola in cui vivo, Florianópolis, Brasile.

Qui il territorio é ben variegato, si passa dal centro urbano, con i suoi edifici storici e palazzi moderni, alle bellissime spiaggie, con dune sabbiose, rocce, alle lagune salmastri, ed a luoghi tranquilli di periferia, come quello che vi mostreró oggi.

Il luogo di oggi si chiama Sambaqui, ed il suo nome significa ''conchiglia'', dalla antica lingua dei Tupi-guaranis, popolo indigeno del territorio del sud del Brasile, che costruiva colline artificiali, fatte appunto con conchiglie, ostriche, ed altri scarti dei frutti di mare. Qui nello stato di S. Caterina, si possono incontrare i Sambaqui piú alti del Brasile e probabilmente, qui c'erano queste costruzioni, che in seguito hanno dato il nome al luogo.

Walking along the road, I meet this very quiet place, with a narrow street and a small square, where at the end I meet a path that leads to a small, very quiet peninsula, ideal for taking beautiful pictures and enjoying nature.

Between stones and roots, I meet this mighty tree with a hollow in the middle, which houses a statue of the Madonna and Saints, probably cured by the fishermen and inhabitants of the community. Continuing between the rocks and the Atlantic flora, I see from a distance the profile of a white horse, grazing well at the end of the peninsula, protagonist and friend of my previous post.

I find myself on a specia of mini gulf and from here, the view sweeps towards the city center. I continue my walk through the rocks and vegetation, meeting this beautiful pink pepper plant, under which I sit, to have the best angles to take my pictures and enjoy the scenery.

Costeggiando tutta la strada, incontro questo luogo ben tranquillo, con una viuzza ed una piazzetta, dove alla fina della stessa, incontro un sentiero che mi conduce su una piccola penisola ben tranquilla, l'ideale per fare belle fotografie e godersi la natura.

Tra pietre e radici, incontro questo possente albero con una cavitá nel mezzo, che ospita una statuina della Madonne e dei Santi, curate probabilmente dai pescatori ed abitanti della comunitá. Proseguendo tra gli scogli e la flora atlantica, scorgo da lontano il profilo di un cavallo bianco, al pascolo ben alla fina della penisola, protagonista ed amico del mio post precedente.

Mi trovo su una specie di mini golfo e da qui la vista spazia verso il centro della cittá. Continuo la mia passeggiata tra le rocce e la vegetazione, incontrando questa splendida pianta di pepe rosa, sotto la quale mi siedo, per avere gli angoli migliori per scattare le mie foto e godermi il paesaggio.

After having rested a little and enjoyed the landscape and the tranquility of the place, I made friends with the horse, staying with him until sunset time. Slowly I start to come back towards my motorbike, almost not wanting to return home, kidnapped by so much beauty, accentuated by the warm colors of the sunset.

I enjoy these moments as much as possible, stopping in various places to take these pictures, which I hope have also transmitted to you the peace, harmony of nature and wonders that our eyes can see, but only the heart can feel full.

Dopo essermi riposato un pó e goduto il paesaggio e la tranquillitá del luogo, vado a fare amicizia con il cavallo, restando con lui fino l'ora del tramonto. Lentamente mi avvio verso la mia moto, quasi non volendo ritornare a casa, rapito da cosí tanta bellezza, accentuata dai caldi colori del tramonto.

Mi godo il piú possibile questi momenti, fermandomi in vari luoghi per scattare queste foto, che spero abbiano trasmesso anche a voi la pace, l'armonia della natura e delle meraviglie che i nostri occhi possono vedere, ma solo il cuore puó sentire a pieno.
