A Israeli War of Independence Memorial to the Liberation of Tiberias on the coast of the Sea of Galilee.
In 1948, Arab forces had taken the town and the Jewish population was cornered.
On 17 and 18 April 1948, Israeli forces came in from The Sea of Galilee and from the hills above the town. Soon the Arab forces surrendered.
The Arab population were evacuated under British convoy.
The Tiberias Youth Hostel is in the background. This is where we stayed whilst on holiday in Tiberias. We found it comfortable and friendly. Accommodation included a breakfast. It was mostly run by Students from all parts of the world. They worked there for free board.

Israel people are very good .but Israel governments are very bad .i requested to Israel governments plz stop killing people in Palestine.
It is a complex situation, for years we wanted to visit Israel but were concerned about safety. We are so glad we finally went.
Most of what we hear outside Israel about Israel is rather biased against Israel. We found it very different to what we were made to think. In the whole we found it very friendly, very safe and we saw a people that want to live in peace but need to defend themselves from constant threat.
