Prophet Ibrahim titled Khalilullah (beloved of Allah) and Ab al Anbiya '(the father of all prophets) is the son of Tariq bin Nahur bin Sarugh bin Raghu bin Nafi' bin Abir bin Shalih bin Arfakhsyad bin Sam bin Nuh (Ibnu Katsir, Qashash al Anbiya 1 / 167). While the distance between the Prophet Noah and the sentence of Abraham is 2640 years, and between them there are only two apostles, namely the Prophet Hud and the Prophet Salih (Tafsir Nawawi 2/220).

Prophet Ibrahim has its own distinctness compared to other prophets. First, the Prophet Ibrahim is often mentioned by his name in the Qur'an especially with regard to the ritual and the trail of pilgrimage.

Secondly, the Prophet Ibrahim is mentioned in the salawat conveyed by the Messenger of Allah, known as the salvation of Abrahamism (which was recited in the last Tahiyat before salaat in prayer). Third, God specifically commanded the example of Prophet Ibrahim, in his word:

قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ إِذْ قَالُوا لِقَوْمِهِمْ إِنَّا بُرَآَءُ مِنْكُمْ وَمِمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ كَفَرْنَا بِكُمْ وَبَدَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةُ وَالْبَغْضَاءُ أَبَدًا حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَه ….. الاية

“Surely, there is a good example for you to Abraham and those who are with him; when they say unto their people: We have escaped from you, and from what ye worship besides Allah, we deny your (disbelief) and are manifest between us and your enmity and hatred for ever and ever until you believe in Allah alone ... "(Surah Al Mumtahanah 4).

Among the prayers of Prophet Ibrahim are:

Prophet Ibrahim's Prayer after building the Ka'bah

{ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ () رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِنَا أُمَّةً مُسْلِمَةً لَكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ }

"Our Lord! Take it from us (Our deeds), you are the Hearer, the Knower. Our Lord, make us two (Ibrahim and Ishmael) obedient unto Thee and (make) among the children of our people who are subservient to You and show us the ways and places of our Hajj, and accept repent us. You are the Most Receptive, the Most Merciful. " (Surah Al Baqarah 127-128)

Prayer for the offspring in terms of worship

{ رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ () رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ }

"O my Lord, make me and my grandchildren the people who keep establishing the prayer, our Lord, allow my prayer. Our Lord! Forgive me and my father's mothers and all believers on the Day of Reckoning "(Surah Ibrahim 40-41)

Prayer asks wisdom

{ رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ () وَاجْعَلْ لِي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ () وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنْ وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيمِ () وَلَا تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ }

"O my Lord, grant me wisdom and put me in the righteous people, and make me a good speech for those who come later, and make me among the inheritors of heaven full of keni`matan. and forgive my father, for he is indeed one of the heretics. and do not defraud me on the day they are raised. (ie) in the day of treasure and the sons are useless. except those who face God with a pure heart. "(Surat Syu'ara '83-89)

Prayer asks for righteous descendants

{ رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ }

"O my Lord, grant me (a child) who belongs to the righteous." (QS Shaffat 100)

Prayer to avoid slander

{ رَبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ () رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ }

Our Lord! Only unto You we put your trust and only to You we repent and to You alone we return, "Our Lord, do not make us (targets) slander for the disbelievers. And forgive us our Lord. Verily, you are the Mighty, the Wise. " (Surah Al Mumtahanah 4-5)

Prayer for the offspring in terms of life in the world

}رَبَّنَا إِنِّي أَسْكَنْتُ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي بِوَادٍ غَيْرِ ذِي زَرْعٍ عِنْدَ بَيْتِكَ الْمُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ فَاجْعَلْ أَفْئِدَةً مِنَ النَّاسِ تَهْوِي إِلَيْهِمْ وَارْزُقْهُمْ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْكُرُونَ () رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ مَا نُخْفِي وَمَا نُعْلِنُ وَمَا يَخْفَى عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ{

"Our Lord! Lo! I have put some of my inhabitants in a valley that has no plants near Your venerable house, our Lord (such) so that they establish prayer, then make the hearts of some humans tend to them and give them food from the fruits, hopefully they are grateful. Our Lord! Lo! Thou knowest what we hide and what we reveal; and nothing is hidden from God, whether on earth or in the heavens. "(Surah Ibrahim 37-38)

Prayer for the tranquility of the country

} رَبِّ اجْعَلْ هَذَا بَلَدًا آَمِنًا وَارْزُقْ أَهْلَهُ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ مَنْ آَمَنَ مِنْهُمْ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآَخِرِ {

"O my Lord, make this land a safe country sentosa, and give the provision of fruits to the believers among them to God and the Last Day." Allah says: "And unto the disbelievers I give the temporary pleasure, then I force him to undergo the punishment of hell and that's the worst place to go back ". (Surah Al Baqarah 126)

{ رَبِّ اجْعَلْ هَذَا الْبَلَدَ آمِنًا وَاجْنُبْنِي وَبَنِيَّ أَنْ نَعْبُدَ الْأَصْنَامَ }

"O my Lord, make this land (Mecca), a safe country, and keep me and my children from worshiping idols." (Surat Ibrahim 35)
