They transmit radiation many times greater than a cell phone and may cause health problems to some people living in their own home. Smart meters do not protect your appliances like the old meters (analog meters) do. Smart meters also have a greater chance of catching on fire and burning your house down. And lastly smart meters do not have a constant rate per kilowatt hour of electricity supplied to your home. This means when most people are using electricity, the rate you pay per kilowatt hour is higher than if you use electricity during non peak hours resulting in higher electricity bills. Unless you want to cook dinner, do your laundry and watch TV at 3:00 am when rates are lower.
