Places that impress #3. Cliffs of Moher

in #ireland7 years ago

One place that most of us have seen, but without knowing it, are the Cliffs of Moher, a line of cliffs of more than 8 Km in the west coast of Ireland, in the county of Clare. Going from south to north, it starts in a height of a bit more of 100 meters, but at the centre, it reaches 214 meters above the sea. Near the middle there is a round stone tower that is like a meeting point or place where tourists gather. That tower is the O'Brien's tower. There, you can see Aran islands.

This photo is taken from the side of the tower of O'Brien 's Tower, where you can see the height... a white point at the left is a person... impressive perspective

There, I remember feel how small stones where falling from the above, there were the small stones the sea was pushing upwards... more than 214 meters!!

As I said... most of you have seen them as they are also known as the Cliffs of Insanity of the Princess bride film... do you remember what was upside? The sword duel with Iñigo Montoya... one of the greatest duels I've ever seen...

This place, literally, shows you how small you are. It brings you a great perspective, more if it's a windy day and it's hard to reach the tower...

P.S. Driving in a country that goes reverse side (driving from the left) is a great mind-blowing activity where you have to re-learn things... ;)
