Ireland should already have learnt from its degenerating neighbour, the UK, when it comes to Immigration.
37% of London is considered English now, almost 20% of the country was not even born there. Now, there is very clearly a kind of cultural shift towards despising the very nature of England. Englishness is considered a disease by many including those in power, while diversity is everything. Meanwhile, those wonderful diversities' countries are, well, not very diverse.
It's probably unlikely to ever 'close' the borders entirely outside of another crazy pandemic, but a strong cap would work wonders. the UK should straight up cap immigration to something super low like 30,000. Whatever the lowest number is that doesnt immediately cripple the economy. Slower immigration allows, forces, those immigrants to integrate into our societies and cultures, rather than coming in huge numbers and creating their own little cultural pockets in isolation and fear of the natives.
But we know this won't happen because that desperate plea for more housing means:
- Higher house prices and rent for the wealthy landlords to reap in
- Higher number of housing to be built for... more money for the wealthy.
25% of the Tories in the UK are private landlords. Go figure.
Well, now, my own hometown is having race wars between Indians and Pakistanis. Because that makes sense!
Ireland is in a potentially incredible place right now being one of the richest countries on earth, ranked about 4, depending on how you measure it, and in a fantastic trading location, diversified economy, beautiful landscape etc.
Copying the UK model of opening the floodgates to just ... Lol, see what happens!... is just dumb. Don't let happen to Ireland what happened to us.
That was a much longer comment than I intended!
well we are looking at the weekly race wars in the uk and we have already shut the airport down for an hour. see my videos for that one.
Whatever the immigration policy is, we should be allowed discuss it democratically.
