RE: Steem Bounty - Your 1 Million Dollar Portfolio for 1 Year - How Would You Diversify? Cash, Real Estate, Gold/Silver, Stocks and Crypto

in #investing6 years ago

Cool bounty question:

I am a little crazy and have most of my assets in crypto.

That said, currently we are in a downtrend in crypto and i would for myself put 80% of so in crypto long term.

however right now i would like to have 80%-50% in cash and would then try to pick up cheap coins if we go towards 1k.

I would be all in with about 90% crypto when we are around 15k if we bounce from here or start laddering in when we go below 6k, with the goal to be all in again when we hot the bottom, which i expect between 1k and 3k if we go below 6k.

Normally diversification is correct, but with this change in the financial world I am willing to just go all in.

If you live in a country where you pay captial gains like the US, this changes a bit to be more towards hodl and less selling as this evaporates much of your capital with each transaction.

Thanks @knircky and thanks for making it possible ;-)

I am quite happy with the level of engagement on this one, lots of good quality comments :-)

Not sure if you are crazy, we'll have to decide in a few years if that was the case. Personally I also have a great amount in crypto. It feels like last year and this year are opportunities in our lifetime that won't come often. Maybe this is the only one even, at least of this magnitude!

That US comment is definitely a good one. Here in The Netherlands we don't have that, we just have a general 'wealth/savings' tax of a bit more than 1% on all your assets, no matter whether they went down or up last year.
