The market recorded a surge in trading volume a contrast to falling market cap indicating massive profit taking by investors, $4.834B worth of crypto exchanged hands an increase of 70% over previous day's trading.
A total of 812 cryptocurrencies, 161 Assets and 4,446 market pairs where traded. Bitcoin's market dominance rose to 47.9% of total market cap.

An analysis of the exchanges showed that the direction of investors funds moved mostly into fiat and hedging assets like BitCNY, USDT and BitUSD. ETH was most hit as seen above, most exchanges recorded large volumes in ETH/FIAT pairs with some as high as 70% of the exchange's volume.
