"Most of my time these days is devoted to my paperwork for my injury lawyer to deal w the guy that ran me over and all that crap in my life."

I can relate. I've been off work since July (2017) over an injury that occurred at work. My former employer, and their worker's comp. insurance company have fought me the whole way. I reported the injury immediately, and went to the company doctor first, which I had to do according to state law. My lawyer later told me the guy is notorious for always siding with the company, which he did. He said it was nothing serious, but I knew differently, of course.

I then went to my doctor, was diagnosed with a rotator-cuff injury, got an MRI that showed the multiple tendon tears, and then my employer said I had probably fallen again somewhere else, and that they weren't responsible. They had never even turned it in to their worker's comp insurance, as the company doctor didn't keep me off work long enough so I could draw anything! They have it down perfectly.

I've had a lawsuit since 11/2016. I've had one rotator-cuff surgery, which failed, and now I'm looking at a shoulder replacement, with some kind of Frankenstein, temporary fix first. They wanna take the top of my Peck (chest) muscle and attach it to my shoulder, somehow.

I was a semi driver, and the surgeon said I probably won't be released to drive a truck again, as my age (58), is working against me. Worker's comp. has never paid me a penny. I went from a decent income, to food stamps and Medicaid, all because my former employer didn't want their insurance paying out anything.

Good luck with your case, and you have a good week also.
