His work and way of thinking was also very important (and necessary) in a time when civilization was, for a lack of a better word/term, stagnating. Da Vinci, along with a few others, inspired the human spirit to once again see the world in color whereas before it had become very dim. Their work(s) would also contribute to the renaissance in Europe.
