Hi I'm Justin

Hello how are you, I’m Justin.

I never did a proper introduction to Steemit so I think now is a good time to it. I’ve posted a couple times before but not regularly. Now I think I have something interesting to say. It’s been two weeks since I left my job, well two jobs and the United States to live in Vietnam.

My primary job was a 911 dispatcher, saving lives and fighting crime. I did that for almost 5 years. I also delivered pizza a few days a week for extra money, I enjoyed delivering and enjoyed the extra money too. I delivered for almost 10 years, first to get through college then just stuck with it and somehow my Dodge Stratus survived almost a decade of delivering.

Now I’m in Phuket Thailand, waiting a few more days until I move to Ho Chi Minh Vietnam to teach English. Let me tell you about the first time I went to Thailand. A couple years ago three of us were making plans on going to Thailand, one buddy couldn’t make it, then the other buddy couldn’t make it. Whatever, I was kind of mad but went alone. I absolutely loved it.

After a year of telling my friends how awesome this place was, one buddy decided to go this time around. On the second trip, I hit Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur then Bangkok with my buddy meeting up in Kuala Lumpur. Yup I loved it again and my friend had a blast too.

Get back home, back delivering pizza and make money for my next trip. I realized I do not want to keep this cycle going. When I was home in Montana the only thing I was doing was saving money and waiting to go back to SE Asia.

I heard good things about Vietnam and it was on my list to go and see, but after watching enough youtube videos I realized that teaching English would be a good approach to live in the region. Even though I’ve never been to Vietnam yet I’m confident I would be more happy teaching there than working back in Montana.

I’ve been outside the U.S. for 2 weeks now. I spent a few days in Bangkok, now down in Phuket doing Muay Thai. I’ll be flying out to HCM on Saturday and can’t wait.

I plan to become much more active on Steemit now that I think I have more to contribute. I plan on writing about travel and my cool adventures, my libertarian views and how they affected my working for a police station, and another popular subject, cryptocurrencies.

Nice to meet you and will write soon.

A couple posts I did before if you’re interested.

Wow, that sounds like a great adventure. I met plenty of westerners in Vietnam and Thailand who made a living by teaching English, you shouldn't have a problem finding a job like that.

Enjoy your stay here, and make sure to share some Vietnam culture once in a while!
