Intro and first Steemit post

So, I'm on Steemit now. It seems like a great site, as far as being oriented toward the economic self-determination of the user. So, I have been excited to give it a try partially for that reason. And overall it seems user-friendly enough.

There are at least a few content creators here who I have followed on places like YouTube, as well. One whose videos I enjoy is Alex Ansary. You can follow him here @otbtv.

I am somewhat of a nature and wildlife nerd, and have been doing mostly nature and wildlife-oriented photography for about eight years now.

This is one early example of my photography here - a photo taken in Portland, Oregon's Lower Macleay Park:

I have also been involved with various aspects of activism for many years now, and attempted to make sense of many of the cultural and/or political views held by people. Consequently, that is also why I am interested in anthropology.

More recently, I have personally leaned toward practicing Orthodox Judaism, and taken interest in the Escaping Atheism project, since I see religious tradition and certain teachings as one of the potentially beneficial ways of restoring some amount of sanity to this world (or at least in my own life).

And if you are an atheist, I don't hate you for your atheism, but I question atheism as an ideological view.

I also have a YouTube channel, which I would like to take in a different direction (and also migrate to DTube) at some point, hopefully soon.
