RE: Hello Steemit, Cheers to 'Never Leaving Again'

in #introduceyourself6 years ago

Cheers to your new found spirit!

Glad to have you back here. I'm really sorry to learn about the loss of your previous account and all that you went through in your personal life during this period. Thankfully you emerged much stronger and a better person. Sometimes challenges and struggles are necessary in life for our own long term interests.

But seriously, do I've any right to be angry with you? You didn't care to share your life with your friends and readers here when you were going through the tough period! Anyway, it's your personal preference.

Personally, I had noticed abnormal activities in your previous account and concluded that it was hacked. So I had unfollowed it about 4-5 months back. It was only now when I got a message from you that I checked it. Looks like there is more to the story then just getting hacked. I too was wondering how a seasoned steemian like you can get hacked. I thought you must have been more careful after your Bitshares experience (I also assume that you lost the access to one of your older accounts). But I'd definitely be interested in learning the detailed story about it, if and when you choose to share it.

No doubt, I'm pleased to see you back in action here. Salute to your spirit of fighting back and starting afresh from scratch. I'm sure, with your talent and experience, you will soon rise to newer heights quickly. My best wishes to you!

Sort:

When the low time of my life was going on, my blog literally represented it, all the disappointment i had.

Mistakenly i posted my key in postpromotion channels in hurry, i was doing in speed thinking i am psting my blog link, but on refreshing my feed i got a signout error until then i realised i pasted my key. It happened with me one timein the past but i was lucky enough to notice and delete the message within second but seemed like second time was no forgiveness.

yeah i lost access to my bitshares accoint too, the oldest one, that i would blame the very badly managed platform at that time, because i was entering the same password and it stopped working for no reason with around my 1000 whaleshares stuck there. Reached out to almost everyone and nothing they could do.

Anyways, whats gone is gone, and i believe everything is a lesson :)

i still have my discord and steemitchat of indianlady with me intact

Okk, that's good. I was actually wondering how a hacker can hack all passwords and I was guessing that you may have sold all your account credentials but it was a guess difficult to swallow for myself too. Thanks for clarifying everything!

:), sold nope why would i take the pain of reaching high again if i had to end it.
Your rep is 67, i see lots of hard work their ;)

No, not the hard work; it's all about manipulation dear 😊
Trust me, I haven't earned much here. The numbers are actually lying.

Oh, perhaps either I missed all that stuff or couldn't figure it out. I do remember when your posts were not doing as expected and you decided to post some low effort posts (according to you) but still you were committed to post regularly. So I was sure you will easily get over that phase. But I may have missed the reason for it.

I'm really surprised to know about your bitshares tragedy. I wasn't aware of it. It was really really strange to say the least!

Yeah, accidentally posting key in other places is understandable. But what were you doing with your owner key? Anyway, whatever happened is an unforgettable blunder and you paid a lot for it. I don't ever use my account master key anywhere. In fact, I'd need to think hard to locate where I have kept my master key, in case I need it right now. But perhaps you used it to change your other keys and all these happened. That was the worst thing possible with an account.

In real life too; when we are feeling low, we are not as alert as we normally are and opportunist take advantage of our situation.

I'm glad that you're a very positive girl and are capable to take everything in your stride. No one can stop such a spirit. All the best to you!

I don't ever use my account master key anywhere:

I generally use my master key everywhere, i used to use steemit through cellphone only, which prompts login page more than general specially when you transfer funds.

All the best to you too :)

Oooops! So hope now you have learnt some lesson regarding that. So, have you rectified your methodology now? If not, I can suggest you something.

. I too was wondering how a seasoned steemian like you can get hacked.

Do you know to be possible to recover your account, you need to setup a option like activate it, i was so disappointed that day when i tried the stolen account recovery option that no one told me i have to sort of activate it first. So anything can happen here i think.

Is it??? No, I ain't aware of it. To set up a recovery option? Yes, I did set up a recovery account but I didn't get what you're talking about! It sounds very strange and weird to me.

Stolen Account Recovery can only be used on steemit.com if the account owner had previously listed 'Steemit' as their account trustee and complied with Steemit's Terms of Service.

I hope you're talking about @steem which is a default recovery account when an account is created through steemit.com. I just checked the recovery account specified for your old account and found that you had specified @steem as your recovery account option. So dunno what went wrong for you!
