My Introduction

I found Steemit just a few hours ago quite by accident. After a little bit of research, I decided to give it a try. So, who am I?

History
I've been involved in trying to make money from the Internet for quite a few years now. My first few years were spent doing Internet marketing. Honestly, I never felt really good about building websites around subjects that I knew nothing about and leaving the fate of my business, and money, in the hands of a search engine weren't appealing. The shady side of IM always left a bad taste in my mouth. So, my heart wasn't in it, and the result was that I never made much money doing it.

What I am Doing Now
I have always loved to write. I like to write most anything, but mostly fiction. I had no idea that my love of writing could be the thing that would finally put me on the right track to making enough money to make it worthwhile to keep doing. As in most things I found out about self-publishing by accident as well (It seems that's a trend with me).

I'm a natural storyteller and a self-professed grammar fanatic. I had found something that I could make money doing that was, in my eyes, honest and that I loved. Three years ago I published my first book, and I haven't looked back since then.

I also do some freelance writing, including articles and blog posts. I have made a little money doing that, and I stick with it because I enjoy writing. I choose sites that allow me to write on subjects I know and can speak intelligently on, which makes for a better end product.

Expectations

I am wary of sites that claim you can make thousands a week by doing no more than writing a few articles. Honestly, if it were that easy everyone would be doing it. Making money on the Internet is difficult, and there are no easy solutions. I will put forth a real effort to earn money on this site. If I do well, all the better for me. If not, this site will languish in the Internet money making graveyard that litters my bookmarks.

I look forward to contributing to the site and seeing where this goes.
