Recently,
I read @tradewonk's post
about Free
Will.
It's a decent read and it inspired me.
Enough to share this spoken floetry
I wrote some years ago.
I was planning on being more silly than serious on Steemit (at least in the beginning), but it is the true nature of Steemit that is dragging my utmost sincerity out of me.
And I LOVE THAT.
Please read this piece below
with a slight pause at the end of each line
(and follow the punctuation)
for the best effect IMO..
(opinions [and especially critiques] are welcomed)
@tradewonk's post that inspired me
will be at the bottom. It's worth the read,
fwiw. Get it??? hahahahaha -ahem.
Ok here's the damn poem....
"Picketed Memories"
breathe in.
ok, now breathe out.
go ahead,
and do it again.
see how
you're allowed
to?
it's called Free Will.
the will to Be.
you're free.
all the things that plague you?
you're free.
all the things that disgrace you?
you're free.
all the things that dis-GRACE you...
you CAN be free from it all...
as you process
the thoughts you let crawl
through your head as they fall
from Experience into Truth.
that's right...
your realm of Truth
is derived
only and directly
from your everlasting Experience
and what you make of it.
what will you take from it?
don't worry.
your perception will figure that out.
the reception via your senses
will map out the fences
in that gigantic yard inside your head
called Remembrance.
those meaningful lines
will form clusters.
picketed memories
intertwining with each other.
connecting the dots
in this unruly fucker
called Time.
Free Will provides
that you get to decide
on which side of each fence
you shall reside.
Love or Fear.
Love involves accepting.
Fear involves rejecting.
one of those doesn't seem quite healthy.
just pick one.
but remember.
the Truth will remain
the same either way.
so accept it,
or reject it.
live it,
or lie trying.
i know that phrase seems bended.
and yes, these puns are intended.
now put an end to the madness
by purifying those fences.
breathe in.
breathe out.
and rewind.
now define yourself.
and anytime you do it,
THAT'S Free Will.
[end]
