I confess, I was a total doubter. Never heard of Steem until a couple of weeks ago and I just ignored it when it finally did land on my radar. I saw you slowly creeping your way up coinmarketcap. I just figured it was yet another pump and dump.
Until yesterday that is. Suddenly the Polo trollbox was flooded with what I thought was yet another pump group.
I've seen way too many coins to keep track of. But someone linked the whitepaper for Steem and I decided to investigate further.
So I dug in deep here and realized WOW!!!
Steem has potential. Steem Dollars have potential too. But Steemit...? To say this is a game changer is actually downplaying what you have here.
I'm a futurist and I'm telling you, what is happening here, it's not just cutting edge, it's f'ing 20 years ahead of the game!
This place works because it allows humans to monetize their contributions to the humanities.
I'm going to do whatever I can to make new uses and use cases for Steem, my clients are mostly businesses that are looking for help with this whole new fangled "blockcoin/bitchain" stuff. I'm planning to start steering them to steem, and work to build a healthy ecosystem.
Mostly I just wanted to drop in, say hello and thank you all personally. What you have solved here is a problem that the world doesn't even realize it has yet. I've been tossing solutions over and over in my head for a couple of years and never hit on a proper solution. This place, solves it though. All nice and neat. That gives me peace of mind. I want to thank you for building this, at least for me it means I can sleep at night.

I have see many people talking about being on Poloniex. What makes it more special than being on bittrex?
What makes polo better than bittrex in my opinion has a whole lot to do with responsiveness and reliability.
I've had tickets on polo that were answered in less than 10 minutes. I don't recall bittrex answering my support ticket in less than 3 days. These aren't particularly complex tickets either. More like "Hey I made a deposit, it's been hours, where's my money?" that are basically the norm for every exchange.
Polo also has better volume and orderbook depth than bittrex usually.

On Poloniex are 10 times more traders than on Bittrex... you will see the volume in a couple of days...

Was slow? Still am slow! Really wishing I could go back in time and slap myself for ignoring this place for so long.
For the likes of me, this place is a god send. I like intelligent conversation in general which is why I've avoided most of the cryptoforums. This place is the first one I can honestly say I'm really excited about.
It's one thing to be a player, it's another to be a game changer.
Bitcoin was recently valued with a market cap higher than Twitter. Took them how many years to get there?
Now we have people coming over from Ripple, NXT and a host of other coins just to be part of this.

I agree, fully with that. We've already bumped Ripple from the number 3 slot. I figure when ETH does it's hardfork there's going to be massive flight from #2 to the #3 coin and will probably bump us to $1B USD market cap.
From there I don't really see it being but a year or two until we displace bitcoin as #1.
hold is the key, don't panic sell
