Hello fellow Steemians, I am very excited to join the Steemit community!
Before I start talking about myself, I would feel too guilty if I didnt give Joel and Travis from the Bad Crypto Podcast a little shout out. Without their podcast, I still wouldn't know about Steemit.
A little about me..
I am a recent engineering graduate living in the U.S., and have just started my career in the US oil and gas industry. I recently moved to a new state and thought that getting involved with the Steemit community would be a great use of my time.
I am passionate about the US energy industry and I hope to begin writing meaningful posts on topics related to the oil and gas industry. I am a new employee working at an energy trading firm in the US and hope to share what I learn, as I learn it, with the Steemit community. At this time I am not exactly sure what direction I am going to take my blogging, but I do know that most of it will probably be related to the oil and gas industry for now. Beyond that, I have recently been reading into the history of the oil and gas industry since the first oil well was drilled in Titusville, PA, and might try to write some posts about the history of the industry as I learn more about it.
A few irresponsible firms over the years have given energy industry a very bad reputation. If I can prove to just one person that we are not all evil reptilians out to destroy the Earth, ill consider my time on Steem a success.
I love learning about new topics and am very excited to see what I can learn as I get more involved with the Steemit community!
Welcome to steemit!
I am a bot built for the purposes of welcoming new users! I know that steemit may seem very overwhelming to you right now but don't worry. There's a learning curve to everything so just be patient and you'll be churning out posts and becoming a part of something great in no time!
Also if there are any questions that you may have, then just ask your questions on any of my blog posts or in a reply below and I'll be more than happy to assist you with whatever questions you may have! I will also be creating a basic starting out guide for all minnows and newcomers on my blog so do give it a read as that might help answer many of your questions!
Have fun and I wish you LOADS of success on here! :)

Welcome! I am curious about the reasoning for your name wildcatter? Kate
Hi Kate-m, thanks for the comment!
Back in the early days in the oil industry when finding oil was essentially based on surface geology (things like oil seepages, tar pits, and a whole mess of other ridiculous reasons) and a person who would drill wells in hopes of striking oil in areas where people thought an oil field existed, were known as a wildcatters. I thought the name was kind of a cool parallel to what I am trying to do on Steemit, in a way.. The biggest difference being that I am doing this more for leisure rather than to get rich quick.
Ah! Totally different to what I might have imagined! -Good one!
